The Role
This is a rare chance to take the lead of a new manufacturing plant for a automotive brand. You will be responsible for establishing operations from the ground up, setting strategic direction, driving operational excellence, building a high-performing workforce, and ensuring the facility delivers on quality, cost, and delivery targets

Our client is an automotive company operating across multiple continents, known for its premium vehicle modifications and assembly services
Description
- Take full ownership of the plant’s operational roadmap—defining performance goals, managing headcount, and ensuring alignment with corporate priorities
- Oversee KD vehicle assembly processes; coordinate resources and workflow to ensure production timelines are met with high efficiency
- Ensure adherence to global quality benchmarks and local regulatory standards; implement ongoing quality assurance measures and lean improvements
- Manage the logistics of inbound parts and consumables; oversee material planning and inventory control to maintain smooth operations
- Control production budgets, propose CAPEX, monitor expenses, and work closely with finance teams to maximize plant profitability
- Build and mentor a capable team across production, engineering, quality, and support functions; foster a strong performance and safety culture
- Promote a zero-incident mindset and environmental responsibility by ensuring full compliance with HSE protocols and audit readiness
- Report KPIs and operational data to global HQ; liaise with OEM clients, government authorities, and supply partners as plant representative
- Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and champion the adoption of automation and digital solutions
- Ensure full compliance with Lao automotive regulations, import/export requirements, and relevant international manufacturing laws
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Industrial Engineering; MBA preferred
- Over 15 years of experience in vehicle manufacturing, including leadership at a plant or regional level
- Proven expertise in KD operations—covering vehicle chassis, powertrain, and electrical system integration
- Familiar with lean manufacturing, production flow design, and process optimization tools
- In-depth knowledge of quality systems (IATF 16949, FMEA, PPAP, SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong understanding of inbound logistics, customs procedures, and supplier performance management
- HSE knowledge (OSHA/NEBOSH or equivalent) with experience driving safety culture across operations
- Financially astute with ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and capital investment proposals
- ERP literacy and openness to digital manufacturing trends, automation, and sustainability innovations
- Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or APICS are an added advantage
