Job Description

Government Affairs Manager at one of the international organizations in Vientiane, Laos

  •          Oversees and involves acting as the primary liaison between an organization and government entities to influence public policy, ensure regulatory compliance, and advance the organization's interests in the public sector
  •          Salary is up to 35,000,000 LAK plus other allowances

The Role

Responsible to manage between an organization and government entities, developing and implementing strategies to influence public policies and regulations beneficial to the company's interests.

Our client is one of the international companies in Vientiane, Laos and is seeking to maximize benefits to support the needs of the local demand.

Descriptions

  •         Develop and implement government relations strategies to advocate for the organization's interests.
  •          Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the organization.
  •          Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulatory authorities, and policymakers.
  •          Represent the organization in meetings, hearings, and public forums.
  •          Prepare policy briefs, reports, and presentations for senior leadership.
  •          Coordinate advocacy campaigns, coalition-building efforts, and stakeholder engagement.
  •          Advise internal teams on regulatory compliance and public policy matters.
  •          Identify emerging policy issues, assess their potential impacts, and recommend appropriate actions.
  •         Ensure that advocacy efforts align with the organization's strategic goals.

Requirements

  •          Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, business administration, or a related field.
  •          At least 5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or related regulatory roles.
  •          Strong knowledge and understanding of legislative and regulatory processes, preferably with experience in Laos or Southeast Asia.
  •          Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  •          Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience preparing policy briefs and
  •        Proficiency in English; knowledge of Lao language is advantageous.
  •          Experience managing or coordinating with external consultants, lobbyists, or government stakeholders.
