GL Supervisor at an International Company in Vientiane, Laos

• Lead and supervise the general ledger accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all GL activities, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
• Up to 12,000,000 LAK other allowances and benefits

The Role
The role requires to review and approve journal entries, trial balance reviews, and reconciliations of complex balance sheet accounts in accordance with company policies and GAAP/IFRS

Description

• Prepare and analyze standalone and consolidated financial statements and regulatory filings
• Oversee the timely and proper completion of assigned GL account reconciliations and ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial data
• Analyze financial data, perform variance analysis, and provide relevant explanations and recommendations to management
• Coordinate and cooperate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators during audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and local/international accounting standards
• Supervise the internal audit processes to ensure compliance with group policies and local regulations
• Provide leadership in initiating and implementing process improvements within the GL function to enhance workflow efficiency and effectiveness.
  Work closely with other departments (AP, AR, Tax, Treasury, etc.) to resolve financial reporting issues and support operational and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum 4 - 6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with experience in general ledger and financial reporting roles
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial statement impacts
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
• Experience in supervising or managing accounting staff is preferred
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
• Proficient in English and Lao, both written and spoken
