Job Description 

Corporate Lawyer at one of the Energy & Utilities Companies in Vientiane, Laos 

  • Provide expert legal counsel to ensure the company’s operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Up to 40,000,000 LAK plus other allowances and benefits

Draft and review contracts, manage regulatory compliance, and support transactions and risk management in the energy and utilities sector

Description

  • Provide legal advice on regulatory compliance, company policies, and risk management related to the energy and utilities sector
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including power purchase agreements, infrastructure projects, and supplier contracts
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and corporate governance laws
  • Handle dispute resolution and litigation matters involving the company
  • Conduct legal research to ensure the company remains updated on relevant laws and regulations
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to protect the company’s interests

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) is required; a master’s degree in law (LLM) or professional certification is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law, preferably within the energy or utilities sector
  • Strong knowledge of local and international energy regulations and compliance requirements
  • Ability to analyse complex legal issues and provide practical solutions
  • Fluent in Lao and English, both in spoken and written
